Romance and music are in the air during ‘Love Stories’ concert
Orchestra tunes up for pops concert
By Laura Newell Telegraph Staff Writer The Folsom Lake Symphony Orchestra will celebrate romance during this time of love with music. In the annual pops concert, Maestro Neumann and the symphony presents “Love Stories.” The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Jill Solberg Theater for the Performing Arts at Folsom High School. Doors open at 6:45 pm. “Last year we sold out, and we anticipate a full house again this year,” said Carol A. Hoge, executive director of the Folsom Lake Symphony. The evening will include “Tara’s Theme” from “Gone with the Wind” by Max Steiner, selections from “Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky, “Claire de lune” by DeBussy, and “Romanza” for viola and orchestra by Max Bruch featuring Jeron Chamberlin, viola soloist. “This is truly a spectacular evening,” Hoge said. The concert will also include the theme from “A Summer Place” by Steiner, “Gabriel’s Oboe” from “The Mission” by Ennio Morricone, selections from the broadway musical “Miss Saigon” by C. M. Schonberg, and the “Lawrence of Arabia Suite” by Maurice Jarre. “This particular concert is a lovely, light, romantic evening sure to be enjoyed by concert goers of all ages,” Hoge said.
