Francisco Garcia will be visiting Oak Ridge High later this month and it won’t be because he’s taking in a Trojan basketball game.

Oak Ridge is one of 11 high schools in the Sacramento area participating in the Kings Size High School Challenge, a program which not only raises funds for the schools, but also helps put people in the seats at Kings’ games.

In a lottery-type draft held earlier last month, Oak Ridge had the seventh pick and chose Garcia to be the Kings’ player that visits the school on a rally on Feb. 25. Oak Ridge students must sell as many tickets to the April 10 Kings-Mavericks game with a percentage of what they sell coming back to the school as additional funds.

The schools that sell the most tickets will receive the “Kings Cup” trophy, access to use the Kings court at ARCO Arena and utilization of one suite at a Kings game during the 2009-10 or 2010-11 seasons. Special in-game activities will also be included for each school on their selected game.
