Transient faces murder charges
By Penne Usher, Telegraph Correspondent

Kenneth Sharonoff is being held without bail at the El Dorado County Jail on a charge of murder.

The 42-year-old transient is suspected of shooting another homeless man Jan. 24 at a homeless camp behind the Kmart in Placerville.

The name of the victim, who was about 60 years old, has not been released by authorities pending notification of his next of kin.

“It appears the shooting was the result of an argument over personal property,” said Sgt. Bryan Golmitz of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.

The victim of the shooting at 3968 Missouri Flat Road was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
