Still no ID for body
By Brad Smith, Telegraph Correspondent

Police are continuing their investigation of the badly composed body believed to be that of a man in his late 40s discovered on Dec. 5.

Officer Jason Browning, Folsom Police Department public information officer, told the Telegraph the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is conducting its own investigation as well.

“The coroner hasn’t determined the identity (of the deceased individual) yet,” Browning said.

The coroner’s office found ID with the body but have yet to release the name pending notification of next of kin, according to earlier reports.

On Dec. 5 three boys riding their bicycles along E. Natoma Street thought they spotted a tunnel or culvert. According to a police news release, the boys went to investigate. That’s when, the report states, the boys discovered what they thought was a dead body. The boys contacted one of their parents, who in turn called police.

Officers sent to the scene found a badly decomposed body.

Detectives are treating the death as a suspicious. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the police at 355-7230, Browning said.
