Durket earns Patriot League's Rookie of the Week
Kaleigh Durket is enjoying athletic success in college. The 2009 Oak Ridge High graduate and volleyball standout now playing for Colgate University has been named the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week for volleyball. Durket helped lead her team to a pair of wins in three matches, posting 39 kills, four assists, two aces, 19 digs and nine blocks. “Kaleigh Durket had a great week of practice and it carried into our matches against Albany, Navy, and American,” Raider head coach Ryan Baker said. “Our team thrives off her intensity, competitiveness and team-first attitude. “I was very excited to see a freshman have such an impact in such an important match versus American,” continued Baker. “However, it’s not really surprising because this is the type of player Kaleigh Durket has been for us all season.” After 15 matches this season, Durket is ranked among the league leaders in three statistical categories – fifth in kills per set (3.10), sixth in service aces per set (0.36), and seventh in hitting percentage (.261).
