Six local runners competed in the United States Masters Track and Field Championships held June 13 at Prairie City Stadium at Folsom High School.

Folsom's Debbie Zakerski, 47, won the (40-49 age division) 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 11.54 seconds, while also claiming the 400-meter long hurdles in 1:23.95.

Folsom's Liz Palmer, 48, won the 80 short hurdles in 13.15, while Kevin Morning, 52, won the (50-59 age division) 200 meters in 25.11 and took second in the 100 meters in 12.12.

Jeff Lawrence of Shingle Springs ran third in the (40-49 age division) 200-meters in 27.41 and was second in the 400 meters in 59.05.

Folsom's George Waxham, 83, won the (80-89 age division) 100 meters in 19.47, while Tim Ruffino, 46, took second in the (40-49 age division) 5,000 meters in 22:48.14.
