Expect traffic delays along Highway 50 on Saturday
Largest outdoor sporting event in Sacramento region; 35,000 expected for Hangtown Motocross Classic

The 41st Annual Hangtown Motocross Classic presented by Capitol Yamaha is coming to Prairie City State Recreation Park Thursday, May 28 – Saturday, May 30.

The Hangtown Motocross Classic is the oldest and largest of the 12-race Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series. For the 41st anniversary, the promoters have scheduled special celebrations throughout the three-day event including a Friday FanFest with an evening rock concert with the band Ten Man Push.

Last year’s event drew close to 35,000 people. With weather expected to be in the high 80s, ideal for an outdoor event, the promoters are encouraging everyone to arrive early on Saturday.

The one day race format will substantially compact the window when people will be arriving at the Prairie City Park. Expect traffic congestion and delays along Highway 99 near Grant Line Road and Highway 50 near Prairie City Road starting on the morning of Saturday, May 30 from 6 a.m. to noon.

The Prairie City SVRA Park is located at 13300 White Rock Road in Rancho Cordova.
